This one is going to go into Legal and Technology.

LibreOffice Writer (which I use) is quite good at handling WordPerfect (wpd) files.

But what if you actually want to run WordPerfect?

And I’m not talking about the shitty new versions of WordPerfect.

I’m talking about the classic Corel Office 2000.

with pcbox you can Full Screen

Using a program called PCBox, YOU CAN!

PCBox is a lot different from virtualization solutions. It’s actually a computer emulator.

So in the above example, this is what parts of my 86box.cfg looks like:

[Machine]
machine = p54tp4xe
cpu_family = pentium_p54c
cpu_speed = 133333333
cpu_multi = 2
cpu_use_dynarec = 1
fpu_softfloat = 0
time_sync = local
fpu_type = internal
mem_size = 131072

I am emulating a Pentium 1 133Mhz with 128MB of Ram.

But also, my favourite sound card:

[Sound]
fm_driver = nuked
sndcard = sbawe32

And guess what? It funtions like an awe32! I enjoyed the classic canyon.mid while I took the above screenshot.

PCBox is fairly easy to use and runs on Linux and Windows 7+
